B-HIVE YOGA IS A PLACE FOR PERSONAL GROWTH, ENCOURAGEMENT, COMMUNITY, CONNECTION, DIVERSITY, AND OF COURSE… SWEAT!

We juggle so many things in our heads all at once. The to-do lists and pressures can seem endless. We live in an always-on world, with social media adding to our persistent feelings of unworthiness and failure. We are overstressed, overstimulated, and our nervous system is overloaded.

Sometimes, our lives feel splintered, with pieces everywhere. It’s hard to keep it all together! Many of us have lost our true connection to self, and to others.

With our Hive, we have created a safe space for you to push your boundaries, learn, and grow your practice. For those who want a traditional yoga class and a workout, we got you! For those who want space to get out of your head and just… B, we are here for you as well.

WE WILL CULTIVATE SPACE TO HELP YOU THINK, TURN OFF THE NOISE, AND PUSH YOUR PERSONAL EDGES, THROUGH HEAT AND MOVEMENT.

B-HIVE IS A PLACE OF SELF-DISCOVERY—A SANCTUARY FOR PRESENCE AND A COLLECTIVE OF POWER WHERE EVERY PERSON IS EMPOWERED TO REMEMBER THEIR WHOLENESS.

Through heat, music, breath, and movement, we guide students to test limits, regulate the nervous system, and embody presence.
More than a workout, yoga at B-Hive is a moving meditation—where grit meets grace, strength meets stillness, and community has your back.

B-HIVE YOGA FOUNDER

BARBI BURESH HAS BEEN PRACTICING YOGA FOR OVER 20 YEARS.

Barbi started her yoga journey when she was living in Colorado, training for marathons and triathlons as a way to recover and increase flexibility. She soon discovered that yoga was improving her life in many other ways.

In 2015, she moved back home to Utah. She was going through a difficult time in her life; changing jobs, going through a divorce, and navigating through a lot of moving pieces. Yoga, however, was a foundation through it all. She found a studio where the teacher, our very own Paris Larsen, had an uncanny ability to help process the mess that is sometimes life, through the breath and movement of a yoga flow.

“PARIS GIVES YOU THE PERMISSION AND ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND THAT YOU ARE RIGHT WHERE YOU NEED TO BE.”

Barbi found that yoga was more than just a workout. It was a healing practice for her, helping to shape and transform her life through breath and movement. Barbi felt this connection was missing at most studios - and this was was the spark and inspiration for B-Hive Yoga.

There are many yoga studios where instructors move you from pose to pose. We strive to be different - a place where you will find connection, acceptance, and restoration.

A PLACE WHERE YOU CAN GET OUT OF YOUR HEAD, GET A WORKOUT, RECHARGE YOUR SOUL, AND JUST B AS YOU AREAND THAT IS PERFECT.

FAQs

  • Welcome! We have designed a class just for you! B-Awakened is ideal for someone who has never practiced yoga, needs a refresh, or wants to perfect their poses. This class will introduce you to the fundamental yoga poses and breathing techniques. Our experienced instructors will guide you through each pose with clear step-by-step instructions in a supportive environment. In addition to building a solid foundation, you will gain confidence as you learn to listen to your body and discover how to modify poses to suit your unique needs.

  • You don’t need the latest yoga gear - you can wear comfortable clothing that won’t bind, or make you feel overheated. We recommend material that breathes, such as moisture-wicking synthetics, as most of our classes are heated - and you will sweat! Keep in mind that your skin may be slippery from perspiration; some people prefer leggings over shorts for this reason.

  • A sturdy yoga mat and a water bottle with ice water is all you need. For heated classes, you will want a towel to put over your mat so it is not slippery, as well as one to wipe your sweat. Don’t worry if you don’t have any of these things; we rent them at the front desk! We also sell yoga mats and towels. Ask us about our favorite brands!

  • That’s OK! Little-known fact: being flexible is not required to come to any of our classes. Yoga is about accepting who you are in that moment and adjusting as your body needs. You can become stronger and more flexible over time with a regular yoga practice.

    • Arrive early to give you time to settle in and get your spot. Doors open 30 mins prior to class.

    • Leave your shoes and cell phone in a locker or cubby to minimize distractions.

    • Respect others by honoring the sacred space, and keeping noise or talking in the yoga room to a minimum.

    • Listen to your body, as the heat can make a class more intense. During class you can always take a child’s pose or lay on your mat if you are feeling overheated or overwhelmed.

    • Clean up after yourself. Wipe down your mat, and any areas where you have been sweating. Return props back to their designated space.

    • Hydrate early and often. We suggest bringing ice water for heated classes.

    • Practice good hygiene and refrain from wearing perfumes and colognes.

    • Ask your instructor any questions you have before or after class.

    • HAVE FUN!

  • That’s okay; we got you! We have mats and yoga towels available for rent at the front desk. We are also happy to talk to you about our favorite brands, and all the amazing mats we have for sale.

  • We are in a large shopping center with LOTS of parking. Be aware, however, that the parking directly in front of the studio can get congested - we prefer parking in the back, south of the studio, or by Dick’s Sporting goods. It is less congested to enter from the south or east of the studio.

  • We strive to be more than a yoga studio where you will get a workout. We are a place for personal growth, encouragement, community, connection, diversity, and of course sweat! We are a community, a Hive that supports each other no matter where you are in your practice. We are a sanctuary where you can turn the world down, recharge, get out of your head and just B. • We are in the heart of Salt Lake Valley and easily accessible from most parts of the city. We are conveniently located right off of I-215 on Fort Union Blvd in Midvale. Our address is 1086 E Ft Union Blvd, Midvale.

  • When you come in, you will be greeted and we will check you into class. You will want to leave your shoes, extra clothes, and cell phone, in a locker or cubby. From there, you can pick your spot in our heated room. In the yoga room, we appreciate your keeping talking to a minimum and respecting this sacred space. All of our classes are heated, with some hotter than others. We recommend hydrating before class and bringing a water bottle with ice water for hot classes. Once class starts, your instructor will start movements off slowly as they guide you through your breath and movement. At any time during the class, if you are overheated or overwhelmed, you are welcome to take the child’s pose or lay on your mat. Each class ends with stretching and a savasana or meditation. If you are new to yoga we recommend our B-Awakened class, which will take you slowly through the poses and is perfect to learn the basics. We are so glad you are here!
